best moves for shallot

Overview

In the dramatic finale of Story Mode Part 2, Shallot has finally gone Super Saiyan. Not only did this update give Shallot a sizeable Boost in stats but at long last, he can be taught Special Moves.

There only so much time to grind for Friendship now that it actually matters, but for those who have the time and energy, here are the Fighter’s to focus on for their killer Special Moves.

The best locations to grind Friendship are Part 2, Book 1 Normal with Chapters 2-9 being especially good spots.

Area of Attack Special Moves

Tactical Buffing
Lightning Shower Rain Can Teach

Deals major Explode damage. Restores Vanishing Gauge by 50% on hit.

Cost 50

This Special deals major Explode Damage, but much more importantly instantly restores Vanish Gauge by 50% on hit. This move is especially valuable in the post-Side Step Meta as Recovering the Vanish Gauge during a Combo is not always guaranteed. If it is used, beginning a Combo with Lightning Shower Rain puts Shallot in a very powerful position since the Enemy can’t vanish step or dash out of Range.

Ending a Combo with this type of Move is also effective, but taking the time to dash forward to get back in range gives the Enemy an opening to tap punch Shallot and break the combo, use a Blast Arts Card, or in some cases, use a close-range Extra Move stun.

Super Electric Strike Can Teach

Deals major Slice damage. Causes enemies to receive 20% more Strike damage for 15 timer counts. 40% chance to inflict Paralyze.

Cost 50

This Special deals major Slice Damage, causes the Enemy to receive 20% more Strike Damage, and has a 40% chance of inflicting paralysis. Paralysis is a powerful and potentially game-changing status effect and can render the Enemy unable to move for a short period of time at random intervals.

Dash Melee Special Moves

Tactical Buffing
Fire Kick Can Teach
Deals major Impact damage. +15% to Blast damage inflicted for 15 timer counts. 20% chance to inflict Faint.
Cost 50

This Special deals Impact Damage, gives the Fighter a 15% Buff to Blast Damage for 15 Timer Counts and more importantly, has a 20% chance to inflict faint. Faint renders the Enemy Fighter unable to act for several seconds, giving Shallot time to Restore Ki, Vanish Gauge, as well as draw multiple Arts Cards.

Damage Buffing
Revolt Pile Can Teach

Deals major Pierce damage. +75% to own Special Move Arts power for 10 timer counts.

Cost 50

GamePress' Team recently figured out the specifics of how EX Bardock YEL's Special Move is calculated and the explanation for that can be found here

The short answer is that this Move foregoes secondary Effects for raw Damage and is highly recommended for Players who want to turn Shallot into their Team's Saitama

Ranged Special Moves

Tactical Buffing
Blaster Shell Can Teach
Deals major Explode damage. Cause enemy to receive 15% more Strike damage for 15 timer counts. 30% chance to inflict Faint.
Cost 50

“Blaster Shell” deals Explode damage, causes the Enemy to receive 15% more Strike Damage, and has a whopping 30% chance to inflict Faint. Shallot is a Strike based Fighter, so causing faint, debuffing Strike Defense and having another Damage Buffed Combo is incredibly powerful.

Since it's a Projectile Ranged Attack instead of a hit-scan Attack, a Rising Rush can be used right after for a lethal combination.

SP SSJ Kid Goten GRN’s “Kamekameha” is similar, albeit slightly weaker.

Planet Crusher Can Teach

Deals massive Explode damage. Randomly destroys 2 enemy cards on hit. Cannot be nullified by most other Special Moves.

Cost 50

SP SSJ Broly PUR’s “Planet Crusher” deals more Damage than most Special Moves in the game, destroys 2 Enemy Cards on hit, and cannot be nullified by most other Special Moves.

Another option here is SP Super Gogeta RED’s Soul Punisher. Similar to SP LSSJ Broly BLU’s Special Move, it has a high chance to inflict Faint.

The difference here is that SP Super Gogeta RED’s Special Move has a higher base power than SP LSSJ Broly BLU’s at the expense of 10% lower chance to inflict Faint.

Damage Buffing
Evil Explosion Can Teach

Deals major Explode damage. The following effects occur based on the amount of health you have left:

  • Health is 70% or less: +10% to Special Move damage for 15 timer counts
  • Health is 50% or less: +30% to Special Move damage for 15 timer counts
  • Health is 30% or less: +50% to Special Move damage for 15 timer counts

Cost 50

This Special Move's  Damage output is determined by the user's Health and can deal up to 50% more the lower Shallot is. As risky as this move may appear, it's important to remember that Shallot's non-Transformation Main Ability Recovers his Health by 25%.

As strong as he gets with maxed out stars, level, and Soul Boosting, he's still a risky choice for core Fighter in PVP, but this Move turns that weakness into a strength.

Infinity Bullet Can Teach

Deals major Impact damage.
Inflicts enemy with Attribute Downgrade "+20% to Strike Damage Received" for 15 timer counts on hit.
40% chance to inflict Paralyze.

Cost 50

This Special Move is almost identical to SP Android #17 PUR’S Super Electric Strike. They both Debuff the Enemy’s Strike Defense by 20% and have a 40% chance to inflict Paralysis. They only have one key difference: SP Android #18 BLU’s Special Move is Ranged where SP Android #17 PUR’s an Area of Effect.

These two Debuff’s Synergize especially well with Shallot, since he’s a Melee Fighter. Paralysis and the Strike Debuffs can be extremely powerful and potentially game-changing.
