By EX standards, he is a mediocre Melee Fighter, albeit one with a powerful Main Ability and Cover, which not many EX Fighters have access to.
Lastly, his Special Move is teachable to Shallot at Friendship Level 2 so if nothing else, he’s worth the grind for that.
Ki Restore Main Ability
While his stats are now outdated, one thing has remained certain – his Main Ability is still an incredibly powerful tempo play. The instant Ki Restore can not only help him chain Combos longer than average Combos but can directly assist his Teammates as well.
Bad Ability Priorities
The biggest problem with this Fighter is his lack of Focus. His stats, held Arts Cards, Unique Ability, and Extra Move point towards Melee but his Z-Ability and Special Move specifically Buff Blast.
And while his Strike stat is in the lead, overall his stats are pretty uniform. To add insult to injury, his Z-Ability is locked to Red Fighters, even though EX Android #17 RED would otherwise be much better suited to an Android Tagged Team.
Cover is really great for Tanks or Offensive Fighters who can take a few hits, but EX Android #17 RED is neither.
Since this Ability adds 3 timer counts onto his substitution timer, it also creates an active discouragement not to use him for a cover change.
Androids are the leading counter to the Saiyan Meta, and EX Android #17 RED is no different.
This, however, primarily comes from his Equips. EX Android #17 RED is a staple Fighter with a pretty standard set of skills.
He would definitely benefit from being put on an Android Team, but the Team may not completely benefit from him unless someone like SP PF Cell RED is the main Damage Dealer.
Red Color Counter
This is likely where he Synergizes best due to his Z-Ability. The Red Element has a lot of powerful Fighters, but too many are Defense Style, so adding in another Melee Fighter would certainly be beneficial.
Once again, Strike Attack and Defense is good, but Critical Buffs taking up an entire slot is a waste, more often than not. Players who feel Critical is too wasteful to ever use have “What?!” as an alternative option, at least.
+60 to Ki Recovery. Requirements: 20 timer counts must elapse.
Cover: Sustained Damage CUT
Reduce damage received by 20% until combo ends when changing cover. +20% to Strike Damage inflicted for 15 timer counts and +3 to own substitution count when activated.
He’s grindable and Buffs two stats, but his Z-Ability is color locked, making him only useful on the bench.
His Main Ability can extend Combos by at least two additional Attacks. This is especially useful since his Arts Card mix fit his strengths well.
His ‘Cover’ Unique Ability is, well, unique. It not only allows him to take a beating but provides a massive all Damage Buff. When combined with his Extra Move, it allows him to give more and take less.
