Overview

SP Goku Black YEL is a devastating Ranged Fighter that can melt an opposing Fighter in the blink of an eye, accentuated by the fact that he owns one of the better Unique Abilities in the game: an extra 30% Damage to Saiyans and Hybrid Saiyans.

He’s a Goku imposter, which sets him back in terms of Equips and Synergy, but almost everything else about him makes that forgivable.

While his Defensive stats and meta countering used to be more impressive, power creep has made his spot on Saiyan and Future Teams far more shakey--especially with the release of SP Perfect Cell YEL.

Strengths

Utopia’s Beginning

An extra 30% Damage to Saiyans and Hybrid Saiyans is simply one of the best Unique Abilities in the game. These two Tags are extremely prevalent, making this Unique Ability outrageously powerful. He especially pulverizes Hybrid Saiyans as they still do not have a good Red Fighter to counter him.

Devastating Main Ability

His Main Ability has a very short charge time of 15 timer counts and grants two different Buffs based on his Health, meaning that it can be used based on the needs of the moment. Both instances of this Main Ability still give a massive Boost to Damage inflicted but additionally Restores his Health if he’s below 50%.

Weaknesses

One dimensional

While SP Goku Black YEL is an exceptional Blast Damage dealer regarding, his Strike Attack lags behind considerably. This essentially means the opposing Team can optimize to play against him by utilizing Blast Tanks.

Team Synergy

Saiyan

Due to how popular Strike Offense is in the Meta, A Saiyan who can act as Both Tank and Range is great because it means the other two Fighters can throw all they have into Melee.

The only real downside is his Future Buffing Z-Ability, but this almost a non-issue when looking at the rest of his toolkit.

Future

Due to his Future Z-Ability and Tag, he’s an excellent fit for the Future Team whether he’s used as a bench Fighter or brought into a Match. Future Teams tend to be fairly Defense-oriented, which is great news for SP Goku Black YEL as he has the Defense to earn his spot.
