Overview

This Fighter does everything one would expect him to, being a reference to Majin Vegeta shortly before he sacrificed himself in an attempt to kill Buu.

SP Majin Vegeta RED’s toolkit is largely self-serving and, in some cases, will even hurt the survivability of his Teammates. Luckily he isn’t meant to survive the Match, so the rest of the Team won’t have to suffer for long.

At the time of his release, the Debuffs to his own Team were acceptable thanks to his incredibly powerful Self-Destruct Ultimate Move. However this has since changed due to the release of more recent Fighters who can easily replace him without bringing so many downsides.

Strengths

Self-Destruction

Androids aren’t the only PVP Tag with Self-Destruction anymore. SP Majin Vegeta RED’s Self-Destructing Ultimate Move is undodgeable by not only by the Fighter in Battle,  the Enemy Player’s other two Fighters as well. It won’t kill anyone not in Battle, but it can potentially bring them down to 1 Health point to be easily picked off later.

His Ultimate Move cannot be countered by Strike or Blast Attacks, but it can still be countered by Rising Rushes or Special Attacks--this last part may seem inconsequential, but his Ultimate actually takes some time to activate, leaving SP Majin Vegeta RED vulnerable to a counter that would waste his only Ultimate.

This can be fixed by his Extra Move which reduces activation time everytime it is used up to three times. Using this card three times makes his Ultimate Move instantaneous.

Tactical Advantage

There’s been a common theme in recent updates to give Fighters a unique held Arts Card that does a little more than cause Damage.

SP Majin Vegeta RED’s own held Strike Arts Card destroys one Card in the Enemy Player’s hand to be destroyed, which can severely hurt their ability to chain Combos.

Weaknesses

Spells Team with “I”

Many of this Fighter’s Abilities and Buffs are self-serving, such as his Z-Ability which grants a Buff to Self-Destruct Damage at Z-levels 3 and 4.

But his primary Unique Ability is downright harmful to his Teammates, as it causes them to receive 30% more Damage for 20 timer counts anytime SP Majin Vegeta enters the Battle.

Poor Team Synergy

Currently, SP Majin Vegeta RED has lost his spot on Saiyan Teams because of the disadvantages he brings to the Team. His primary Unique Ability’s Team-wide Damage received increase is dangerous, especially in a Meta where Super Saiyans and Lineage of Evil Fighters can already deal enough Damage on their own.

For this reason, Red Fighters such as SP Super Gogeta RED and SP Fury Broly RED are preferable choices.  

On the bright side, he sees some use in niche Teams filled with Fighters that have protection against his Debuff.

Fate

This Unique Ability gives SP Majin Vegeta RED a 50% Ki recovery Boost for 15 timer counts when facing Goku. However, in the current Meta the variant of Goku that sees the most use is SP Kaioken Goku BLU, who counters SP Majin Vegeta RED in every way.

This Unique Ability is useless more often than not and this is a noticeable blow for a Fighter who is supposed to give Players a huge advantage.

Team Synergy

Saiyan

Sadly for the prideful Saiyan Prince, the release of SP Fury Broly RED put his role among Saiyans in jeopardy, as the F2P accessibility to the former and his overall high Damage output made him a more popular choice compared to SP Majin Vegeta RED, who has downsides that are too dangerous to overlook.

Red Color Counter

The release of SP SSJG Goku RED  and  GoD Beerus GRN created a safer Team option for SP Majin Vegeta RED, because one of their Unique Abilities nullifies the Debuffs caused by him up to two times.

The strategy for this Team would be to use as many Extra Moves as possible with SP Majin Vegeta RED, then activating the Self-Destruction when it can be done without a charge time. 

This remains a somewhat niche option. However, it could prove to be effective if managed skillfully.

Cold and Cruel Saiyan

+50% to damage inflicted for 15 timer counts every time this character enters the battlefield. Inflicts Attribute Downgrade "+30% damage received" to all other allies for 20 timer counts every time this character enters the battlefield.

Fate (Goku): Ki Recovery UP

+50% to own Ki Recovery for 15 timer counts when faced with enemy "Character: Goku".

Deals major Self-Destruct damage. This Self-Destruct damage does not depend on your own health, but deals a fixed amount of damage. Applies Strike and Blast Arts armor and nullifies Abnormal Conditions when activated. A portion of the damage inflicted will also be dealt to enemy members on standby (this cannot cause them to be defeated).
