SP Paikuhan YEL comes straight from Dragon Ball Z anime filler episodes and movies and joins the Dragon Ball Legends roster as a strong Melee Fighter with quite a few Supportive tricks up his sleeve.
Once thought of as the last Fighter a Player ever wants to see from a banner pull, he recently received some much-needed Buffs and is significantly better now.
While he still suffers a bit from his limited Tags, his improved stats alone mean he can perform well in a few Teams and his upgraded Z-Ability also gives him a few more options as well.
Crippling Main and Unique Abilities
This Fighter tends to leave his mark on the Enemy Team whether he is still alive or not. His Main Ability increases the cost of Enemy Strike and Blast Arts Cards by 10 for a whole 20 timer counts, crippling their Damage output significantly.
Alternatively, he also increases the Enemy substitution count by 5 when he is defeated, once again compromising the other Team.
Faint Inflicting Special Move
Although it may not happen often, his Special Move has a 20% chance to inflict Faint, a status which prevents the Enemy from moving at all. This is very useful for turning the tides of an entire Match.
Huge Strike Attack
The recent Buffs not only gave this Fighter a much better Strike Attack stat, but also improved the Damage he can do to Frieza Force Fighters through his Unique Ability, giving him a massive 40% Strike Damage Buff against the Tag.
This is especially important considering Frieza Force is gaining a lot of popularity through new Fighters, which makes SP Paikuhan YEL a great counter to bring into a PVP Match against them.
Main Ability Duration
While his Main Ability is useful, it will only last 10 timer counts--one of the shorter Main Abilities in this game. This makes it very situational since this can make the opponent waste around 20% of their Ki at best or none at all, depending on how the fight moves from there.
Few Synergy Options
As per usual, SP Paikuhan YEL still suffers from the problem of not having an obvious Team like most other popular Sparkings. A Yellow Color-Counter Team can work but is a risky option due to the high caliber Red Fighters. TheSagas Warrior Team is small, but will likely pick up steam in the future.
Due to his Tags and Z-Ability, there are two options for SP Paikuhan YEL. Sagas from the Movies could still use a bit more help Z-Ability wise, and this Tag has access to some extremely powerful Fighters, with more on the way.
At 5 stars, SP Paikuhan YEL boosts this Tags Strike Defense, giving them a Defensive option they desperately need. This means he’s only a valuable Teammate after being summoned to this star level.
A Yellow Color Counter Team is also an option, and probably the best one. Due to the highly Offensive Yellow Z-Abilities that are constantly being released--especially the new SP SSJ2 Goku YEL who gives the color a much needed Defensive option--this Team performs well in PVP.
+10 cost to Strike and Blast Arts cost to all enemies for 20 timer counts. Requirements: 10 timer counts must elapse.
Many of his Abilities now have increased durations and after 5 stars, his Z-Ability Buffs Sagas Warriors.
Yellow Color-Counter and Sagas Warrior Teams have experienced some unexpected growth, making SP Paikuhan YEL a staple in the Meta.
Considering how the side-step mechanic now works, it can allow for some pretty long Combos once they are locked in. The Meta is currently pretty Strike-centric and those Fighters don't have nearly as much Ki Recovery Speed.
SP Paikuhan YEL's Main Ability forces them to spend as much as a Ranged Fighter only with less Ki to work with.
