Overview

This Fighter has aged like a fine wine. Once thought of as a “decent to good” Blue Fighter, he has skyrocketed in popularity and usability. Ki Recovery Speed was holding him back before, but after the Side-Step update, it is no longer as much of an issue.

While drawing a Special Move Arts Card with his Main Ability seemed clunky before, this can be an effective move against SP SSJ Broly PUR, as he does an extra 30% Special Move Damage to any Broly variant.

That being said, his Move-Set is a little unique. Crisis Abilities aren’t bad to have, but SP SSJ Goku BLU gets into trouble because his entire toolkit is focused on delivering a single lethal blow. On top of that, it’s tied up with a Melee based Special Move that’s easy to dodge or counter from a distance. 

This means Crisis makes him a risky, and an unnecessarily difficult Fighter to play.

Strengths

Incredible Defense Stats

Despite being an Offensive Fighter, his Defense stats are easily some of the best in the game. He can take hits and survive longer than anyone else on the Team, meaning he gets a lot of use out of those Crisis focused Abilities.

Good for PVE Challenges

While he's been power crept enough not to make the Team in high-rank PVP, SP SSJ Goku BLU is great to bring along in PVE when grinding for Chrono Crystals since using a Special Move once or twice is so common in challenges. 

Weaknesses

Lacks Reliable Damage Buffs

Incredible base stats only take a Fighter so far; the absence of powerful all Damage Buff to those base stats is the single biggest issue with SP SSJ Goku BLU’s Moveset. The Damage Buffs he does have are limited by when they activate or are attached to his Special Move, making it one of the easier attacks to avoid.

Average Ki Recovery

While Ki Recovery is not nearly as important as it once was, the fact that this Fighter tends to use many Special Moves and has a held Blast Arts Card, he may find himself low on Ki quite often.

Team Synergy

Saiyan

This is one of the deepest and most versatile Tags in the game with few Blue Element Melee Fighter. Needless to say, SP SSJ Goku BLU arrived just in time.
