SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED joins the roster as a Defensive Fighter since his Unique Ability allows him to greatly reduce any Damage taken from the Enemy.
This Fighter brings some Offensive Abilities to the table as well: He can draw his own Ultimate Card thanks to the Main Ability “You’re History!!”. Being able to draw the Ultimate Arts Cards at will it's one of the best mechanics available.
Overall, SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED is a well-rounded Fighter that manages to perform well in Defense without completely ignoring Offense. He may not be the best, but he still makes for a nice addition to the Team.
Can Draw His Own Ultimate Art Card
This kind of Main Ability mechanic is shared by a few other Fighters including SP SSJ Goku RED and SP Android #17 PUR. Here it works essentially the same; After 25 counts elapse, he can draw an Arts Card of his choice and can be used at will and regardless of what card is pulled, it will only cost 20. A good way to pull combos with this type of move is by landing a Strike or Blast Attack, using Main Ability, landing another Strike Blast Attack, then using the Ultimate move Shining Slash to end the sequence.
Cover: Reduce Damage
SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED is a Defense Style Fighter, meaning his main role is defending the rest of the Team. To do this, he takes advantage of this Unique Ability which allows him to reduce the Damage taken by 40% when switching in for another Fighter during an Enemy Combo. This is incredibly useful, especially in situations where the enemy is trying to corner a Teammate using type advantages.
Counter to Frieza Force Fighters
He doesn't need to Synergy to work in a Team, even though that's definitely a bonus. In fact, his Unique Ability is useful in pretty much any team. SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED holds a Strike and Blast Art Card, making this Fighter very well rounded and easy to use. He can fill an incomplete Team without causing serious issues for the Build.
Low Attack values
Even though his Ultimate Move packs a punch, SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED's Attack stats are quite low. This is likely to balance out his value as a Tank.
The Hybrid Saiyan tag Support Fighters don’t really measure up to those in the Saiyan tag, meaning SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED is a little too good for a Team built around this tag--And the Super Saiyan tag isn’t an improvement in terms of Support Style Fighters.
Given that this Fighter is all about Defense, there isn’t a lot to do with a Z-Ability which boosts Blast Attack for all Hybrid Saiyan Teammates--especially considering how low the Blast Attack stat is for SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED, himself. This Ability is only useful for Hybrid Saiyan Team Builds, which severely limits Synergy optimization.
Hybrid Saiyans have some nice Equips. They are mostly for boosting Attack, but these are still Gold Type Equips and boost other stats such as Strike Defense and Ki Restore Speed--ideal for unleashing the full potential of this Fighter.
The Hybrid Saiyan tag is sparse but growing. Trunks would definitely be the star Fighter of any Hybrid Saiyan Team Build.
Alongside other heavy hitters like SP SSJ Vegeta RED and SP SSJ Goku RED, a single Element Team Build would be an excellent fit for this Fighter--at least in PVE.
Draw the Ultimate Arts Card "Shining Slash" next. Requirements: 25 timer counts must elapse.

Being a Defense Style Fighter, it's recommended to prioritize Defense stats.
Do not focus Attack stats, even if the temptation is strong. This Fighter can deal a fair amount of Damage but he’s clearly not an Offense Fighter. Focus on Soul Boosting what he's best at.
