Tier Lists

Due to massive the power creep present in the last three Summons, this Black Friday Step-Up Summon has created the need to severely rework the Tier List.

For that reason, it is extremely important to read the Fighters' explanations for why they are in their new spots.

Tier Z

What makes a Fighter ‘Z Tier’?

They are well above average in all criteria, but what really sets each of them apart is a particular piece of their toolkit--an Ability that exerts control over core game systems and forces Enemy Teams to play around a single Fighter.

SP Kaioken Goku (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2041412
Strike ATK 225540
Blast ATK 196260
Strike DEF 144127
Blast DEF 137177

Why this Tier?

  • SP Kaioken Goku BLU has an extremely powerful Transformation that lasts for 60 seconds and can really put the pressure on Enemies--and because of his “I’m Gettin’ Excited…!” Unique Ability, the more they evade him the stronger he becomes.

  • While transformed SP Kaioken Goku BLU is Z tier, however the toll it takes and lackluster non-transformation stats mean he probably shouldn’t see the field for the first 10 timer counts.

Discussion:

Despite minor drawbacks, he has an incredible toolkit overall. He becomes the kind of Fighter that can easily obliterate any Enemy.

SP Super Saiyan Bardock (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2132092
Strike ATK 241315
Blast ATK 218215
Strike DEF 139903
Blast DEF 142009

Why this Tier?

  • At 5 and 7 stars, he Buffs Strike Attack and Defense for Super Saiyans, through his Z-Ability, and Damage,  Critical Rate, and Critical Damage through his Unique Ability.

  • His Extra Move is self-healing and removes attribute downgrades.

Discussion:

The Super Saiyan Tag is gaining new and powerful Fighters and Synergy. SP SSJ Bardock BLU doesn't just need Super Saiyan Teammates for Unique Ability Buffs, he Supports them Defensively and Offensively. This gives him even more staying power in a core line-up.

SP Super Gogeta (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2334946
Strike ATK 238911
Blast ATK 224833
Strike DEF 137839
Blast DEF 140598

Why this Tier?

  • His Extra Move not only counters Strike Attacks but removes attribute upgrades on the Enemy--effectively neutralizing their advantage.

  • This Fighter has no stat weaknesses. This on top of his game-changing Moves and Abilities makes him a Top PVP Team requirement.

Discussion:

Ultimate Move Restores 50 Ki instantly and his Special Move has a 20% chance to faint. Combine this with his stacking Combo Damage Buffs and Health Restoring Main, and this Fighter is a Tank and Offensive Fighter all rolled into one.

SP Super Saiyan Broly (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2436122
Strike ATK 211734
Blast ATK 238608
Strike DEF 138912
Blast DEF 136167

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Broly PUR has an amazing Extra Move that costs very little to use and--as a Melee Dash Attack--is harder to counter thanks to the Blast Armor it creates upon activation.

  • His Unique Ability forces the Enemy to switch out and nullifies color disadvantage when used.

Discussion:

These two aspects of SP SSJ Broly PUR’s toolkit pair perfectly together.

This makes him the first Fighter who can almost completely control the Combat Loop and break type chasers--this is key because type is still, to this day, the single largest Debuff / Buff the game provides

SP Final Form Frieza (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2243704
Strike ATK 244236
Blast ATK 204002
Strike DEF 139720
Blast DEF 142521

Why this Tier?

  • Since the most recent balance update, SP FF Frieza YEL has way better stats both in Defense and Strike Damage.

  • His Extra Move now has full Range, meaning he can stop oncoming Attacks at any distance.

Discussion:

The biggest strength of this Fighter are the Buffs available for Frieza Force, especially since that Tag is getting a comeback. While SP FF Frieza YEL doesn’t counter Hybrid Saiyans like SP Black Goku YEL, but he deals more Damage to Saiyans.

Tier 1

What Makes a Fighter 'Tier 1'?

Tier 1 houses some of the best beat-sticks in the game--Fighters with in-game abilities that, combined with their ideal Team Build, mean a win in almost any neutral matchup. This makes them must-haves for hard-core competitive teams.

SP Super Saiyan Gohan (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2358975
Strike ATK 227094
Blast ATK 216039
Strike DEF 141413
Blast DEF 145668

Why this Tier?

  • He provides the Team with massive and permanent Buffs upon his death.

  • He also brings some much needed Strike Arts Cards to the Future Tag.

Discussion:

His Special Move increases Enemy Strike Damage received by 25%, his Extra Move removes Debuffs in addition to self-healing when Teamed with Trunks variants, and his drawable Ultimate Move removes Enemy Attribute Upgrades. All of this makes him extremely flexible in Combat.

SP Mai (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2020913
Strike ATK 189851
Blast ATK 219044
Strike DEF 144228
Blast DEF 144235

Why this Tier?

  • She encourages fast play and constant switches through Team and self Buffing--a style that fits PVP Combat perfectly.

  • Her ability to destroy Enemy Cards and decrease their draw speed can wreak absolute havoc.

Discussion:

SP Mai GRN is perhaps one of the best Support Fighters in the game. Designed to be the perfect Teammate, not just Future Tag ones. Team healing and all Damage Buffing mean everyone is well taken care of.

SP Super Saiyan God Goku (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2334542
Strike ATK 225882
Blast ATK 215898
Strike DEF 136066
Blast DEF 140195

Why this Tier?

  • When Teamed up with a Saiyan, SP SSJG Goku RED packs a punch thanks to his incredible second Unique Ability.

  • He also has a very inexpensive and helpful Extra Move that can set up his powerful Ultimate Move to deliver massive Damage to the Enemy.

Discussion:

With his immunity to status effects and how central status effects are to the new Future Tag Fighters, SP SSJG Goku RED just became a whole lot more valuable.

SP Vegeta (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2312124
Strike ATK 235888
Blast ATK 190383
Strike DEF 147632
Blast DEF 144742

Why this Tier?

  • His Main Ability gives him a second chance at life and when coupled with his Crisis Ability, can pull a win out of a losing Match.

  • His base stats are fairly average.

Discussion:

SP Vegeta GRN has an interesting Melee kit which includes two held Strike Arts Cards, a powerful base stat, one of the best Main Abilities in the game, a devastating Extra Move, a bonus to Strike for using his Special Move, and Unique Abilities that when activated can help him rain down devastation.

However, though his stats aren’t bad, they aren’t the best at anything either.

SP Broly: Fury (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2233566
Strike ATK 233251
Blast ATK 207968
Strike DEF 139316
Blast DEF 136571

Why this Tier?

  • SP Fury Broly RED breaks Cover with his teachable Special Move.

  • He also has a good Melee toolkit and great Unique Abilities that make him an invaluable asset in Sagas Warrior Teams.

Discussion:

SP Fury Broly RED has amazing Synergy and Team options. He can fit into Saiyan or Sagas Warrior Teams, but since Lineage of Evil has two Coora variants, SP Fury Broly RED can also be used in Frieza Force Teams.

SP Super Saiyan 3 Goku (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2089079
Strike ATK 246672
Blast ATK 243000
Strike DEF 130851
Blast DEF 125721

Why this Tier?

  • He has the most devastating offensive kit ever devised.

  • His Anti-Regeneration focus has become less valuable due to the shift in Meta.

Discussion:

His toolkit makes him stronger the longer he’s alive, and his stats make it that much harder to take him out, but this glass canon Saiyan is still a high risk/high reward choice. When using SP SSJ Broly PUR, there’s no need to take on high risk to get high reward, making SP SSJ3 Goku PUR less relevant.

SP Goku Black (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2111492
Strike ATK 200111
Blast ATK 236102
Strike DEF 144951
Blast DEF 147841

Why this Tier?

  • His Anti-Saiyan and Anti-Hybrid Saiyan Unique Ability older Fighters makes those Tags unplayable in PVP.

  • His stats make him viable as both a Tank and a Damage dealer.

Discussion:

This Fighter’s Main Ability is amazing. It gives him incredible tactical versatility by changing effects based on his needs.

But a creep in the Meta has affected his placement; he isn’t any worse than before it’s just that his place in the Meta is slipping due to better Fighters filling his role.

SP Android #18 (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2166868
Strike ATK 230346
Blast ATK 209432
Strike DEF 133595
Blast DEF 136285

Why this Tier?

  • Her toolkit is impressive with a huge anti-Hybrid Saiyan Buff and her art card mix fits her role as well.

  • SP Android #18 BLU has a really powerful Extra Move that doesn’t cost much to use the first time and the benefits outweigh the loss, even at its max cost.

Discussion:

She’s very similar to SP Kami Piccolo BLU and SP PF Cell RED in that she’s great beat-stick who becomes the best option in the game when pitted certain Tags.

SP Super Janemba (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2448419
Strike ATK 206827
Blast ATK 211008
Strike DEF 150214
Blast DEF 151707

Why this Tier?

  • His Extra Move redefines the risk in trying to bait or cancel when SP Super Janemba PUR is on the field.

  • Much like SP Super Gogeta RED, this Fighter lacks any distinct stat weaknesses all his Moves and Abilities are focused and play to his strengths making him a truly formidable Tank who can also dish out massive amounts of Damage.

Discussion:

His Extra Move is a powerful and easy to use counter that keeps him from slipping too far, for now, but he is being power crept due to the recent lack of attention given Regeneration Fighters.

SP Super Saiyan Goku (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2203952
Strike ATK 217284
Blast ATK 182899
Strike DEF 150623
Blast DEF 152894

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Goku BLU’s Special Move card has become more valuable with recent updates to the game and he’s so versatile because of how well he counters powerhouse Fighters in the current Meta.

  • Crisis abilities are fairly situational, even more so for SP SSJ Goku BLU because Ultimate Fist takes a lot of set-up to actually land. However, as far as Blue Element Fighters go, he’s one of the better options and Synergizes incredibly well with Saiyan multicolor Teams.

Discussion:

His two major weaknesses before were a low Ki Recovery Speed stat and lack of all Damage modifiers--both of which aren't as big a deal since the side-step update made long Combos more difficult to pull off.

Now, his tactical priority lies in a powerful Special Move that can do ridiculous Damage.

SP Bardock (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2511626
Strike ATK 217726
Blast ATK 181088
Strike DEF 138071
Blast DEF 138071

Why this Tier?

  • SP Bardock GRN’s Main Ability cages in the Enemy, preventing that Fighter from getting swapped out.

  • He has one of the best Melee burst potentials in the game due to his various Damage Buffs.

Discussion:

SP Bardock GRN is just a victim of power creep. He’s no longer a must bring on the Saiyan Tag Since the release of SP SSJ Broly PUR and SP SSJ Bardock BLU provide a type of field control that makes SP Bardock GRN’s switch-locking less powerful.

SP Paikuhan (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2335015
Strike ATK 236833
Blast ATK 197842
Strike DEF 135734
Blast DEF 137762

Why this Tier?

  • Many of his Abilities now have increased durations and after 5 stars, his Z-Ability Buffs Sagas Warriors.

  • Yellow Color-Counter and Sagas Warrior Teams have experienced some unexpected growth, making SP Paikuhan YEL a staple in the Meta.

Discussion:

Considering how the side-step mechanic now works, it can allow for some pretty long Combos once they are locked in. The Meta is currently pretty Strike-centric and those Fighters don't have nearly as much Ki Recovery Speed.

SP Paikuhan YEL's Main Ability forces them to spend as much as a Ranged Fighter only with less Ki to work with.

Tier 2

What makes a Fighter 'Tier 2'?

While the Fighters listed in the higher Tiers are often the primary Fighter of their respective Team, the Fighters here are ideal secondaries. These Fighters have at least one major defect but with proper Team Synergy, these defects can be overcome.

SP Super Saiyan 2 Teen Trunks (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2189744
Strike ATK 222198
Blast ATK 236203
Strike DEF 137490
Blast DEF 138856

Why this Tier?

  • His mere presence activates multiple Buffs both SP Mai GRN and SP SSJ Gohan YEL, making him a must-have for Future Tag Teams.

  • His Guardian’s Resolve Unique Ability gives him Buffs for switching in and out of Combat and successfully dodging attacks.

Discussion:

His Crisis-like Flame of Hope Unique Ability makes him more powerful as his Teammates die. It conflicts with his other Abilities which give SP SSJ2 Teen Trunks and his Teammates a variety of massive Buffs. This makes Flame of Hope feel more like a consolation prize than a legitimate Buff.

SP Super Saiyan 2 Goku (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2323216
Strike ATK 212058
Blast ATK 212048
Strike DEF 152461
Blast DEF 147982

Why this Tier?

  • Yellow Mono and Color Counter Teams are gaining an unexpected resurgence and this gives SP SSJ2 Goku YEL even more Team option.

  • His Damage to non-Vegeta variants is horrific, even based on what he can gain from his Cover Unique Ability.

Discussion:

SP SSJ2 Goku YEL heals himself and removes attribute upgrades through his Main Ability.  Despite the viability Color Teams have gained, his Z-Ability limits him. The bright side to that is that he's a part of one of the strongest Colors in the game currently.

SP Chilled (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2265849
Strike ATK 203507
Blast ATK 201491
Strike DEF 142024
Blast DEF 140619

Why this Tier?

  • SP Chilled PUR is situational. Through his Unique Ability, Teammates become virtually invulnerable to Super Saiyans when SP Chilled PUR dies. But this doesn't work on regular Saiyans, Super Saiyan 2 or Super Saiyan 3 Fighters.

  • His Damage and stats are bad enough that he’s essentially a better version of SP WC Hercule RED.

Discussion:

No one should use this Fighter for anything but Buffs. Even more than SP Paikuhan YEL, SP Chilled PUR lives to die. Inherited Malice is one of the best Buffs in the game, his Paralyzing Strike Arts Card is quite useful, and he’s part of a solid Tag.

SP Youth Goku (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2090796
Strike ATK 238852
Blast ATK 193844
Strike DEF 135103
Blast DEF 133778
  • His Extra Move can be back dashed so he can’t follow up with a counter and will likely always be countered back.

  • His stats are pretty average for a new SP Fighter, but his Unique Abilities mean he will always be Buffed, regardless of how the Match is going.

Discussion:

His limited Tag and Moves that work in oddly specific ways like giving bonuses to SP DK Piccolo YEL make his use very restricted. His Extra Move is still good and may work well against less experienced Players, but this shouldn’t be relied upon as a strategy.

SP Majin Vegeta (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2167575
Strike ATK 243921
Blast ATK 225024
Strike DEF 140807
Blast DEF 140105

Why this Tier?

  • His Self-Destruct Ability is undodgeable once activated and even hurts Enemies who aren’t on the Battlefield.

  • Due to power creep, his Self-Destruct is not enough of an advantage to overcome the disadvantages he brings to the Team.

Discussion:

SP Majin Vegeta RED’s toolkit is a double-edged sword; He comes with a cost that hurts his Teammates, so Players need to use him at the right times. Otherwise, he can be devastating to everyone but the Enemy.

However, compared to Fighters like SP Fury Broly RED, this sort of disadvantage shouldn’t be considered acceptable for the benefits it provides.

SP Majin Buu: Good (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2287919
Strike ATK 208099
Blast ATK 213362
Strike DEF 158447
Blast DEF 155320

Why this Tier?

  • This is essentially a Support and Tank wrapped into one.

  • The Regeneration Tag has taken a huge hit with the release of SP SSJ3 Goku PUR. He’s one of the most powerful Fighters in the game and part of a much bigger Tag than SP Good Buu GRN.

Discussion:

SP Good Majin GRN is the weakest of the Sparking Regeneration Fighters and his Healing are comparatively less impressive due to increased Damage dealt on the newer Fighters.

He lacks Damage output, making him a sponge who’s Health and Defenses aren’t able to withstand the newer Attack stats.

SP Demon King Piccolo (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2051507
Strike ATK 229370
Blast ATK 202299
Strike DEF 143519
Blast DEF 131072

Why this Tier?

  • His Countdown to Despair Main Ability can swing the tides of a Match by stealing dragon balls from the Enemy giving them to the Player.

  • His power crept Defensive stats make him a liability to the Regeneration Tag.

Discussion:

Now that the Regeneration Tag has many SP Fighters with some incredible Synergy, SP DK Piccolo YEL has the backup he needs to a truly competitive and game-changing force in PVP. If it weren’t for power creep, he would fill out a truly great Team.

SP Perfect Form Cell (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2065086
Strike ATK 215122
Blast ATK 232420
Strike DEF 130648
Blast DEF 130642

Why this Tier?

  • His Intimidate Unique Ability can drastically reduce Enemy Fighters’ resources and limit their Combo lengths.

  • This Fighter’s Anti-Super Saiyan Abilities are no longer as relevant since so many Super Saiyans have severely aged and there are currently the only Z-Tier Super Saiyan is SP Super Gogeta RED.

Discussion:

The fact that he’s an Android and part of the Regeneration Tag means he used to have everything he needs to take out Enemy Fighters. But that’s changed recently due to issues of power creep.

SP Super Saiyan Kid Goten (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2102147
Strike ATK 234247
Blast ATK 185285
Strike DEF 130622
Blast DEF 121380

Why this Tier?

  • Has one of the most powerful Damage Buffs in the game, in his Main Ability.

  • He’s a Defensive liability when facing more Meta relevant Teams.

Discussion:

SP SSJ Kid Goten GRN has a burst Damage potential that is incredible. His Buffs are so numerous that even if they aren't all activated at once, he can still deal more Damage than just about anyone in the game.

Problem is, that Hybrid Saiyans have taken a huge hit with the release of SP Goku Black YEL, who can deal them some serious Damage, and this Fighter just can’t hold up.

SP Goku (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2334626
Strike ATK 199283
Blast ATK 230660
Strike DEF 151490
Blast DEF 149258

Why this Tier?

  • Excellent Element Group double Buff.

  • Difficult and ineffective Crisis Unique Abilities.

Discussion:

SP Goku PUR is too focused on special move buffs and last man standing. His stat re-balancing helped bring him back to PVP viability. He became more consistent, but he doesn’t make for the best Crisis Fighter.

SP Super Saiyan 2 Youth Gohan (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2345338
Strike ATK 222765
Blast ATK 186584
Strike DEF 135221
Blast DEF 136580

Why this Tier?

  • Stackable Unique Abilities paired with his base Strike stats gives this Fighter a burst Combo potential that is hard to beat.

  • Hybrid Saiyans aren’t gaining Fighters that would pair better with him than other newer Hybrid Saiyans.

Discussion:

Being able to juggle the Enemy until they die or he gets his Vanish-Step back is great for the current Meta, but his poor Defensive stats make him a liability to Hybrid Saiyans, even with the release of the new Future Fighters.

SP Android #16 (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2486510
Strike ATK 207397
Blast ATK 129749
Strike DEF 155218
Blast DEF 158346

Why this Tier?

  • His Self-Destruct Ability is highly effective and can take out troublesome Enemies before they have a chance to hurt his Teammates.

  • He's immune to every effect.

Discussion:

Having SP Android #16 GRN on the field means Enemy Players can’t effectively use their Fighter’s toolkits without fear of having them nullified or mitigated.

Top Players have found a workaround for Cover by dropping a Combo intentionally and waiting for the Cover Buffs to wear off. This makes that particular Ability less effective than it once was.

SP Super Vegeta (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2237746
Strike ATK 179259
Blast ATK 227265
Strike DEF 124264
Blast DEF 131942

Why this Tier?

  • His Tags give him a wide array of base stat buffs that make him even more powerful better equipping him to win almost any neutral match up.

  • For Saiyans who aren’t super new, power creep is always going to be an issue.

Discussion:

SP Super Vegeta YEL was a formidable Damage Dealer among Saiyans a Tag who fields several top 5 Teams in the current Meta. Now the Tag has way better options to choose from, and this Fighter won’t be able to compete for long.

SP Android #17 (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1832603
Strike ATK 172456
Blast ATK 211291
Strike DEF 156519
Blast DEF 159673

Why this Tier?

  • Incredible Defensive stats that when paired with a powerful Unique Ability, make this Fighter one of the more formidable Tanks in the game. On top of this, he is able to reduce the threat of a one-shot from an Enemy’s Rising Rush.

  • Top Players have found a work-around for Cover by dropping a Combo intentionally and waiting for the Cover Buffs to wear off. This makes that particular Ability less effective than it once was.

Discussion:

This Fighter is one of the better Tanks in the game; not only does he have a diverse toolkit allowing him to absorb and reduce Damage, but his Offense stats are no longer on the high end of the current line-up.

SP Captain Ginyu (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2288222
Strike ATK 199010
Blast ATK 219905
Strike DEF 143840
Blast DEF 146738

Why this Tier?

  • He has a held Extra Card.

  • His Awakened Move now works at a distance.

Discussion:

SP Captain Ginyu GRN finally gained Synergy with the Frieza Force Tag. This combined with his significantly improved stats, Abilities, and Moves brings him to the forefront of that particular Tag.

Tier 3

What makes a Fighter 'Tier 3'?

These Fighters require major focus and should by no means by the Fighter a Team is built around, but they don’t really give back and make their Teammates stronger. This doesn’t make them too different then from the Fighters in Tier 1, but these Fighters are typically older and don’t hold up to newer Fighters in the DBL Roster. The lack of Damage Buffs and competitive base stats needed to reliably win neutral matchups is what puts these Fighters in Tier 3.

SP God of Destruction Beerus (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2323045
Strike ATK 208503
Blast ATK 239703
Strike DEF 138123
Blast DEF 136747

Why this Tier?

  • SP GoD Beerus GRN is a Support Fighter that barely has a Tag to Support, and his Unique Abilities don’t provide particularly outstanding Support to other Fighters.

  • However, his Aura of Destruction Unique Ability can seal away those powerful Main Abilities that seem to be dominating the Meta--like Transformations--preventing the entire Enemy Team from using them.

Discussion:

Overall within the context of the current Meta, SP GoD Beerus GRN suffers from a lack of Tag Synergy and a Blast focused toolkit that doesn’t quite go far enough to be dangerous. However, as the God Ki Tag grows to include new Fighters, he could really shine.

SP King of the Demon Realm Dabura (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2110881
Strike ATK 205919
Blast ATK 233263
Strike DEF 142812
Blast DEF 140713

Why this Tier?

  • This Fighter’s Extra Move held Arts Card, as well as the benefits the Move provides, are extremely valuable but it comes with the steep cost of increasing his Special Move cost by 10 the first three times the Extra Move is used.

  • He doesn’t have any Tags, limiting his Team viability and Equipment options.

Discussion:

SP King Dabura BLU is all about protecting the Team from debuffs while also debuffing the Enemy through paralysis and making some Arts Cards unusable.

A lack of Tags won’t completely make him unusable since his toolkit is too good not to use, but it means there’s a lot more to consider when putting him in a Team.

Power creep has also made him harder to fit into a Team.

SP Super Saiyan Gotenks (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2167474
Strike ATK 223820
Blast ATK 243807
Strike DEF 131659
Blast DEF 140706

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Gotenks PUR has some incredibly high Special Damage Burst potential and his stats leave him with no weaknesses in that regard.

  • Burst Damage as a Ranged Fighter is much harder to pull off now, but successfully one-hit K.O.

Discussion:

When building Hybrid Saiyan Teams, SP SSJ Gotenks PUR has a hard time cracking the starting lineups due to large investment costs for limited payout.

He also needs two Extra Moves and a Special to gain a 70% chance to inflict faint,  but Fighters like SP FF Frieza YEL can guarantee Paralysis with one use of his Extra Move.

SP Super Saiyan Goku (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2193545
Strike ATK 165322
Blast ATK 203211
Strike DEF 129342
Blast DEF 126774

Why this Tier?

  • His ‘Cover’ and Main Ability allow him to break Combos and reset the Combat Loop but this Ability is no longer a PVP game-changer.

  • He’s able to steal priority from almost any Attack using his Special Move, as well as have a chance to inflict Faint on an Enemy.

Discussion:

But while his toolkit is no longer as impressive and SP SSJ Goku GRN has been power-crept. His stats are not great and his all Damage modifiers are non-existent to the point that he’s too weak to both take hits or dish them out against the newer Tanking Fighters.

He’s also burdened by his Z-Ability not being Saiyan and now his biggest attributes have fallen victim to a new Meta that makes them obsolete in most cases.

SP Fused with Kami Piccolo (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2237635
Strike ATK 179459
Blast ATK 235391
Strike DEF 130511
Blast DEF 129342

Why this Tier?

  • Regeneration Tag is getting a lot of new Fighters in the recent update, which is also adding to the pool of Z-Abilities, making this a much more synergizing Tag than it was before.

  • Anti-Android skills are seeing less use now that Android Teams aren’t played as much. Anti-Regeneration Fighters like SP SSJ3 Goku PUR make it harder to use him too.

Discussion:

His toolkit and stats aren’t as effective as they were upon release, especially with Regeneration counters. However, the rest of his Abilities and the growth of the Regeneration Tag certainly give him some staying power.

SP Super Saiyan Kid Trunks (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2081125
Strike ATK 204750
Blast ATK 235528
Strike DEF 128042
Blast DEF 126664

Why this Tier?

  • He can reduce Enemy Ki Recovery Speed and increase his own Vanish Step gauge through his Main Ability.

  • Power creep has caused a decline in the viability of Hybrid Saiyans.

Discussion:

SP Super Saiyan Kid Trunks YEL can deliver lethal Damage at maximum range.  His Extra Move is quite possibly the best in the game. What makes this Fighter great is his Synergy with Goten variants. Together those two are some of the best Damage dealers in the game.

SP Coora (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2311605
Strike ATK 201481
Blast ATK 241315
Strike DEF 144338
Blast DEF 142911

Why this Tier?

  • His Extra Move can slow down Enemies.

  • He’s gained some Tag Synergy because Sagas Warriors got new Fighters.

Discussion:

SP Coora GRN’s Extra Move could be great, but using it is risky. His stats were significantly improved, but he still lacks Buffs, making him a difficult Fighter to run. Thanks to Synergy with the new Lineage of Evil Tag, SP Coora GRN can also viably play with Frieza Force Fighters and Frieza variant Fighters.

SP Krillin (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1695262
Strike ATK 156770
Blast ATK 223912
Strike DEF 127411
Blast DEF 133274

Why this Tier?

  • Amazing group heal that also cancels Enemy Ki Recovery for 5 counts.

  • Poor Arts Card mix as a Blast Damage focused Fighter and general power creep hurt this Fighter’s viability.

Discussion:

SP Krillin BLU is a competent Blast Fighter who can heal the entire Team and also reduce Damage dealt by Enemy Teams. He is one of the better Synergizing Fighters in the game and when paired with someone in need of extra Strike Arts Cards, but power creep has made his defects less forgivable, even with all his strengths.

SP Android #18 (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1827954
Strike ATK 215122
Blast ATK 179259
Strike DEF 125519
Blast DEF 133274

Why this Tier?

  • Her stats aren’t competitive as other Android Fighters who do very similar things.

  • SP Android #18 YEL brings two Blast Arts Cards as a Strike heavy Offense Fighter.

Discussion:

Her Arts Cards can be a blessing to Ranged Teammates, but this hurts her viability and ability to win neutral matchups in the Android Tag.

SP Android #18 YEL needs a Team that brings the right Cards and Buffs, but accomplishing this without hurting the Team Build can be difficult—if not for this she would be higher on the list.

Tier 4

What makes a Fighter 'Tier 4'?

These Fighters are simply for back-up on the bench, but that’s not to say they can’t be brought in for type advantage if needed. But even in that case, there are better options in nearly every Element Group and Tag. These Fighters are used for their Z-Abilities and to counter type advantage gaps with Starters.

SP Super Trunks (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1762490
Strike ATK 241917
Blast ATK 162867
Strike DEF 129342
Blast DEF 129335

Why this Tier?

  • SP Super Trunks GRN’s true power lies in his Main Ability wherein he gets an incredible 75% Boost to Strike Damage for 10 counts.

  • High Card costs and low Ki Restore Speeds have crippled SP Super Trunks GRN in the long term, and the general decline of the Hybrid Saiyan Tag has not been easy on this Fighter.

Discussion:

SP Super Trunks GRN remains relevant through SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR. Their Synergy makes them inseparable in a competitive Hybrid Saiyan Team. These two feed each other’s Strike Cards, dealing incredible amounts of Damage.

SP Super Saiyan Teen Trunks (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1865069
Strike ATK 161429
Blast ATK 159814
Strike DEF 125581
Blast DEF 126199

Why this Tier?

  • Top Players have found a workaround for Cover by dropping a Combo intentionally and waiting for the Cover Buffs to wear off. This makes that particular Ability less effective than it once was.

  • The decline of the Hybrid Saiyan Tag on top of some already unimpressive stats.

Discussion:

Hybrid Saiyans have taken some hits with the most recent update, and none so hard as SP SSJ Teen Trunks RED. Everything that made him great before is no longer relevant due to age severe power creep.

SP Super Saiyan Vegeta (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1978004
Strike ATK 158216
Blast ATK 147461
Strike DEF 156650
Blast DEF 108690

Why this Tier?

  • Power creep has significantly hurt this Fighter’s viability.

  • Self-healing through his Extra Move makes SP SSJ Vegeta RED slightly more durable.

Discussion:

SP SSJ Vegeta RED’s toolkit was hurt due to the recent Side-Step updates draw limitations--his biggest advantage was his Main Ability that reduced costs to 5 Ki, which sounds great but now he can't draw enough Arts Cards to put that to real use. And, he needs to be surrounded by Fighters who bring additional Strike Arts cards.

Self-healing and the Saiyan Tag, just can’t keep SP SSJ Vegeta RED viable.

SP Kid Gohan (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1883719
Strike ATK 223729
Blast ATK 143148
Strike DEF 128111
Blast DEF 126837

Why this Tier?

  • The general decline of Hybrid Saiyans has really hurt this Fighter’s viability.

  • Poor Arts Card mix really hurts SP Kid Gohan YEL. In order for him to be effective, he needs to be on a Team that can either use his Blast Arts Cards or compensate with four Strike Arts Cards.

Discussion:

SP Kid Gohan YEL has a great Z-Ability for Hybrid Saiyans, he's in a good Element Group, and does a fair amount of Damage as well.

Though he’s limited in who he can be paired with, he’s a little competitive in Hybrid Saiyan Team Builds because they Synergize and balance out his weaknesses with the Strike Arts Cards.

SP Piccolo (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2103329
Strike ATK 167710
Blast ATK 161125
Strike DEF 142332
Blast DEF 136758

Why this Tier?

  • SP Piccolo GRN’s Team-wide healing, Tank stats, and Cover Unique Ability make him a great Defense Style Fighter for most Teams, but with the release of SP SSJ3 Goku PUR, he’s too much of a flight risk.

  • He lacks Damage potential and Synergy from his Tags.

Discussion:

SP Piccolo GRN’s stats have become less impressive with the release of newer SP Fighters. The current lack of viable Teammates and Synergy puts this Fighter lower on the list.

Tier 5

SP World Champion Hercule (Red)
Explanation
SP Super Saiyan Goku (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1855511
Strike ATK 205243
Blast ATK 201189
Strike DEF 135809
Blast DEF 133113

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Goku YEL’s ability to draw Cards faster and deal more Damage at the start of a match makes him an ideal opener.

  • However, he Damages himself and loses most of his big Buffs after the first 20 counts. Luckily, this weakness can be toned down with the help of a Secondary Offense Fighter to pick up the slack.

Discussion:

SP SSJ Goku YEL used to have a role in double Buffing Yellow Teams or even as an alternate in the Green-Green-Yellow Saiyan Build, but the decline of Saiyans in general and the rise of more powerful tags like Hybrid Saiyans has reduced his viability in the PVP Meta.

SP Turles (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1537496
Strike ATK 188371
Blast ATK 192177
Strike DEF 124950
Blast DEF 100460

Why this Tier?

  • Excellent Z-Ability Buffs two different stats.

  • Random bonus Extra Arts Card and lack of reliable Buffs.

Discussion:

SP Turles PUR is both Purple and Saiyan--two Tags which house some absolute monsters. This means his Z-Ability is useful to relevant Fighters in the Meta but bringing him into a Match is likely never a smart thing to do.

SP 1st Form Frieza (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1863259
Strike ATK 161349
Blast ATK 197942
Strike DEF 128698
Blast DEF 129355

Why this Tier?

  • A unique skill-set allows him to steal priority from Ranged Attacks.

  • But he lacks the Damage Buffs needed to excel.

Discussion:

The biggest strength of this Fighter are the Buffs available to the Frieza Force Tag. Sufficiently Buffed, SP 1st Form Frieza BLU can compete and win in neutral matchups, but he lacks the durability needed to build a Team around.

SP Legendary Super Saiyan Broly (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1921582
Strike ATK 241485
Blast ATK 159104
Strike DEF 124294
Blast DEF 118232

Why this Tier?

  • He has bad Defense, no all Damage modifiers, and his Strike Attack stat is no longer nearly as impressive.

  • Expensive Extra Move and lacks Damage Buffs.

Discussion:

SP LSSJ Broly BLU’s toolkit has always been unimpressive, but this is made more so due to the increased release of Fighters with high Strike Damage, Damage Buffing abilities, and fast Ki Recovery.

His toolkit has always been average, but even the recent additions to the Sagas Warriors Tag won’t keep this Fighter relevant to the Meta beyond the Bench.

SP Super Saiyan Goku (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1712386
Strike ATK 180837
Blast ATK 226973
Strike DEF 109677
Blast DEF 115300

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Goku RED brings two Strike Arts Cards and a Strike Buff to the Saiyan Tag, making him a great complement to the other Z Tier Saiyan Fighters.

  • His overall stats are no longer impressive, and he’s really only useful on the bench.

Discussion:

Between the Anti-Saiyan SP Goku Black YEL and other Tags’ Saiyan countering, SP SSJ Goku RED is now just too old to be relevant without a lot of help and can only be realistically used for his Z-Ability.

SP Goku (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1883813
Strike ATK 167822
Blast ATK 154112
Strike DEF 127956
Blast DEF 134517

Why this Tier?

  • Farmable SP that can be 7 starred, giving him good stats.

  • The Saiyan Tag is so powerful that finding a spot for him on the bench, let alone on the starting line-up, is impossible.

Discussion:

The strength of the Saiyan Tag ensures that SP Goku BLU has no seat at a table filled with Vegeta variants. If he were an Android or some other Tag, he’d be more viable--especially at higher stars.

SP Vegeta (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1661776
Strike ATK 147508
Blast ATK 225978
Strike DEF 125575
Blast DEF 124325

Why this Tier?

  • Average Blast Damage Buffs.

  • Lack of durability and poor Arts Card Mix for his Tag’s current focus on Strike Damage.

Discussion:

SP Vegeta PUR’s base stats aren’t as impressive anymore, but his Main Ability Damage Buffs and Extra Move keep his Blast Damage at respectable levels. The Saiyan Tag can’t really afford Fighters with two Blast Arts Cards in the current Meta, especially ones with poor Defense stats.

SP Pan (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1883719
Strike ATK 153749
Blast ATK 150697
Strike DEF 115312
Blast DEF 115306

Why this Tier?

  • The side-step update hurt Ki Recovery Speed as a stat and that was her only redeeming quality since she was top dog in that regard since launch.

  • A Lack of Tag options and Team Synergy hurt her viability in the current Meta.

Discussion:

SP Pan BLU’s greatest defect is that she just doesn’t fit in with the current Meta. The Female Warrior Tag is her best bet here, and while that Tag has experienced some recent growth, it’s still too small. Due to power creep, this Tag and Hybrid Saiyan can no longer keep her relevant.
