What makes a Fighter ‘Z Tier’?

They are well above average in all criteria, but what really sets each of them apart is a particular piece of their toolkit--an Ability that exerts control over core game systems and forces Enemy Teams to play around a single Fighter.

Why this Tier?

  • Despite his base Attack stat values, SP Zamasu RED has a deceptively high and Meta countering Damage output thanks to his Utopia’s Beginning Unique Ability.

  • His absurdly strong Defensive toolkit makes him far and away the best Tank in the game.

Discussion:

SP Zamasu RED since his release has been a revolutionary Fighter. He's been a staple in Future and Regeneration Teams, and for good reason. His Unique Abilities make him nearly impossible to take out, and even when his Health is taken to 0, he revives.

On top of his seemingly impenetrable  Defense, his Offense is nothing to scoff at either
. His Utopia's Beginning Unique Ability gives him 30% Damage inflicted to Hybrid Saiyan and Saiyan Fighters. Alternatively, his Extra Move into his Special Move Arts - Fierce God Slicer - is a devastating combination.

His never ending partnership with SP Mai GRN has made him one of the hardest Fighters in the game to beat.

Why this Tier?

Why this Tier?

  • He has a great toolkit even before transforming, but after transformation, SP Gogeta BLU surpasses even SP SSJ Broly PUR through his base stats alone.

  • His Special Move has legitimate one-hit K.O. potential and hits hard enough to offset any color disadvantage.

Discussion:

Whether it's from his Equip choices or innate abilities his toolkit is all about Damage Buffs with the added bonus of a self-Healing Main Ability and base Defenses that give him lots of survivability. His one disadvantage--a Fusion Warrior Z-Ability--is even mitigated by the existence of potential core Teammate SP Super Gogeta RED and a total of four Fusion Warrior Buffing Fighters at the time of his release.

Why this Tier?

  • He has a great toolkit even before transforming, but after transformation, SP Gogeta BLU surpasses even SP SSJ Broly PUR through his base stats alone.

Why this Tier?

Discussion:

SP SSJ Broly PUR has just about everything in his toolkit. He deals absurd amounts of Damage, heals himself, and controls the Combat Loop by force-switching Enemies out with his Extra Move as well as nullifying color disadvantage.

Why this Tier?

The one thing holding SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan RED back from Z Tier for so long was the lack of a supporting cast, considering his excellent toolkit couldn’t shine with what he was given. That is no longer a problem.

Why this Tier?

  • His Blast Attack and Defensive stats are incredible, and the former is further Boosted by a powerful toolkit.

  • The recent Son Family additions have at long last given him an excellent Team.

Discussion:

Honestly, SP Perfect Cell YEL is a beast. When he enters the battlefield, he Buffs an already strong Strike Attack attack while slowing down the Enemy’s Ability to Combo and if that's not enough, he Heals and can negate Damage received once when changing cover. This guy has an incredible and diverse toolkit, fully establishing his place in Tier Z.

Why this Tier?

Discussion:

Not many Players are fans of SP Ribrianne BLU, but there’s no doubt her toolkit is exceptional in almost all facets of battle. Whether it’s Strike, Support-esque Debuffs, or being ridiculously hard to kill, she does it all.
 

Why this Tier?

  • She’s categorized as a Defense Fighter but through a multitude of Damage received Debuffs and a devastating Ultimate Move, SP Ribrianne BLU can punch a hole through almost anyone.

Tier 1 houses some of the best beat-sticks in the game--Fighters with in-game abilities that, combined with their ideal Team Build, mean a win in almost any neutral matchup. This makes them must-haves for hard-core competitive Teams.

Discussion:

SP Lord Slug BLU is a great addition to the Regeneration Team and has so much Synergy with them--so what holds him back from Z Tier? His Blast Attack is low enough to put him at a disadvantage when forced to use those Attacks and his low average Defenses combined with his Health-related Damage Buffs make it a risky move to let him dip that low. 

Why this Tier?

  • Similar to SP SSJ Gohan YEL, he’s excellent whether alive or dead.

  • His Main Ability can give him a surprising amount of Damage if paired with Son Family Fighters.

Discussion:

While he’s useful dead, he certainly serves a purpose when alive as well. Ki Restore 5 timer counts after entry, an Extra Move that shortens Teammates substitution count as well as a Special Move Arts Card that reduces Ki by 50 means he can control the combat-loop very well.

Why this Tier?

  • Similar to SP SSJ Gohan YEL, he’s excellent whether alive or dead.

  • His Main Ability can give him a surprising amount of Damage if paired with Son Family Fighters.

Discussion:

While he’s useful dead, he certainly serves a purpose when alive as well. Ki Restore 5 timer counts after entry, an Extra Move that shortens Teammates substitution count as well as a Special Move Arts Card that reduces Ki by 50 means he can control the combat-loop very well.

  • He can struggle to do Damage unless he’s able to land Special Move Arts Cards.

    • His "Chaining Power" Unique Ability helps his Teammates tremendously when he's switched to standby.

    • He also has a good Melee toolkit and great Unique Abilities that make him an invaluable asset in Sagas Warrior Teams.
