Tier Z

What makes a Fighter ‘Z Tier’?

They are well above average in all criteria, but what really sets each of them apart is a particular piece of their toolkit--an Ability that exerts control over core game systems and forces Enemy Teams to play around a single Fighter.

SP Majin Buu: Good (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2287919
Strike ATK 208099
Blast ATK 213362
Strike DEF 158447
Blast DEF 155320

Why this Tier?

  • This is essentially a Support and Tank wrapped into one.

  • His Main Ability is similar to SP Bardock GRN’s Main that prevents enemy switching, only this one activates the first two times SP Good Buu GRN enters the battlefield and lasts 5 timer counts each.

Discussion:

SP Good Buu GRN has some of the highest Health and Defense stats, his Z-Ability Buffs both Defense stats after unlocking the third level, his Main Ability instantly Restores Teammate Health by 20%, and he has a damage reducing Extra Move.

A 5 timer counts for a no-switching debuff may seem like a short time, but remember time freezes when Attacks are landed, so those 5 counts can stretch with a successful Combo.

SP Super Janemba (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2448419
Strike ATK 206827
Blast ATK 211008
Strike DEF 150214
Blast DEF 151707

Why this Tier?

  • His Extra Move redefines the risk in trying to bait or cancel when SP Super Janemba PUR is on the field.

  • Much like SP Super Gogeta RED, this Fighter lacks any distinct stat weaknesses all his Moves and Abilities are focused and play to his strengths making him a truly formidable Tank who can also dish out massive amounts of Damage.

Discussion:

His powerful Main Ability that gives him draw his Special Move while also increasing Enemy Strike Arts Card costs by a whopping 15 points. His Special Move can’t be dodged at midrange either and restores the Vanishing gauge by 50%. This combined with his Blast Attack Countering Extra Card, downgrade nullifying Unique, and Z-Ability Boost make this Fighter a huge boon to the Regeneration Tag.

SP Super Gogeta (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2334946
Strike ATK 238911
Blast ATK 224833
Strike DEF 137839
Blast DEF 140598

Why this Tier?

  • His Extra Move not only counters Strike Attacks but removes attribute upgrades on the Enemy--effectively neutralizing their advantage.

  • This Fighter has no stat weaknesses. This on top of his game-changing Moves and Abilities makes him a Top PVP Team requirement.

Discussion:

Ultimate Move Restores 50 Ki instantly and his Special Move has a 20% chance to faint. Combine this with his stacking Combo Damage Buffs and Health Restoring Main, and this Fighter is a Tank and Offensive Fighter all rolled into one.

SP Demon King Piccolo (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2051507
Strike ATK 229370
Blast ATK 202299
Strike DEF 143519
Blast DEF 131072

Why this Tier?

  • He has incredible Ki Recovery Speed and can restock cards in hand with his Extra Skill, making for long combos.

  • His Countdown to Despair Main Ability can swing the tides of a Match by stealing dragon balls from the Enemy giving them to the Player.

Discussion:

Now that the Regeneration Tag has many SP Fighters with some incredible Synergy, SP DK Piccolo YEL has the backup he needs to a truly competitive and game-changing force in PVP.

SP Super Saiyan Kid Goten (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2102147
Strike ATK 234247
Blast ATK 185285
Strike DEF 130622
Blast DEF 121380

Why this Tier?

  • Has one of the most powerful Damage Buffs in the game, in his Main Ability.

  • Has a near perfect Strike based toolkit which includes several all Damage Buffs, excellent Arts Card mix, and top-tier base stats.

Discussion:

SP SSJ Kid Goten GRN has a burst Damage potential that is incredible. His Buffs are so numerous that even if they aren't all activated at once, he can still deal more Damage than just about anyone in the game. His Main Ability is basically a Rising Rush. It forces Top Tier Players to plan around one Fighter if they know what he has to set-up and play defensively. With the Meta's shift towards Hybrid Saiyans, this Fighter has become more than just a powerful beat stick.

SP Super Saiyan 2 Youth Gohan (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2345338
Strike ATK 222765
Blast ATK 186584
Strike DEF 135221
Blast DEF 136580

Why this Tier?

  • Stackable Unique Abilities paired with his base Strike stats gives this Fighter a burst Damage potential that is hard to beat.

  • Discounted Ultimate Arts Cards, an already high base Ki Recovery Speed, Unique Abilities to keep it up are what make SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR perfect for executing lengthy Combos.

Discussion:

SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR is highly specialized. His focus on Strike Cards, Damage, and Ki Recovery Speed make for amazing Combo execution. Being able to juggle the Enemy until they die or he gets his Vanish Step back is great for the current Meta, making him a must-have for the Hybrid Saiyan Team Build. But his greatest assets are the Unique Abilities that stack Damage Buffs so he can clear the field and create a Team advantage.

SP Bardock (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2511626
Strike ATK 217726
Blast ATK 181088
Strike DEF 138071
Blast DEF 138071

Why this Tier?

  • Bardock’s Main Ability cages in the Enemy, preventing that Fighter from getting swapped out.

  • He has one of the best Melee burst potentials in the game due to his various Damage Buffs.

Discussion:

SP Bardock GRN’s ability to control who comes in and out of battle means the Enemy always has to consider that any Fighter they swap in may be locked into to fight for a long time, flipping general type advantage with ease.

Tier 1

What Makes a Fighter 'Tier 1'?

Tier 1 houses some of the best beat-sticks in the game--Fighters with in-game abilities that, combined with their ideal Team Build, mean a win in almost any neutral matchup. This makes them must-haves for hard-core competitive teams.

SP Android #18 (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2166868
Strike ATK 230346
Blast ATK 209432
Strike DEF 133595
Blast DEF 136285

Why this Tier?

  • Her toolkit is impressive with a huge anti-Hybrid Saiyan Buff and her art card mix fits her role as well.

  • SP Android #18 BLU has a really powerful Extra Move that doesn’t cost much to use the first time and the benefits outweigh the loss, even at its max cost.

Discussion:

She’s very similar to SP Kami Piccolo BLU and SP PF Cell RED in that she’s great beat-stick who becomes the best option in the game when pitted certain Tags.

SP Super Saiyan Gotenks (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2167474
Strike ATK 223820
Blast ATK 243807
Strike DEF 131659
Blast DEF 140706

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Gotenks PUR has some incredibly high Special Damage Burst potential and his stats leave him with no weaknesses in that regard.

  • Burst Damage as a Ranged Fighter is much harder to pull off now, but successfully one-hit K.O.

Discussion:

This is the first and currently only Sparking Rarity Fighter with 105 impact resistance, which means he takes 5% less Strike and Blast damage. On top of this, he has an Enemy Vanish Step debuffing Special move and a Unique which increases his own Ki Recovery Speed by 50% from the moment he enters the field to the first time he’s hit by the Enemy.

SP Perfect Form Cell (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2065086
Strike ATK 215122
Blast ATK 232420
Strike DEF 130648
Blast DEF 130642

Why this Tier?

  • The combination of his incredible base Blast stats, Blast stat Boost against Super Saiyans, and his two Blast Arts Cards mean he’s one of the hardest hitting counters to one of the best Tags in the game.

  • His Intimidate Unique Ability can drastically reduce Enemy Fighters’ resources and limit their Combo lengths.

Discussion:

SP Perfect Cell RED’s overall Damage Output, especially against Super Saiyans, is top notch. The fact that he’s an Android--one of the more powerful Tags in the game--and part of the Regeneration Tag--which is gaining some serious traction in recent updates--means he has everything he needs to take out Enemy Fighters.

SP Super Saiyan Goku (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2193545
Strike ATK 165322
Blast ATK 203211
Strike DEF 129342
Blast DEF 126774

Why this Tier?

  • His ‘Cover’ and Main Ability allow him to break Combos and reset the Combat Loop.

  • He’s able to steal priority from almost any Attack using his Special Move, as well as have a chance to inflict Faint on an Enemy.

Discussion:

His presence forces Enemies to expend more resources than they otherwise would in a typical match in order to enter and sustain a Combo.

But while his toolkit is amazing, SP SSJ Goku GRN has been power-crept. His stats are not great and his all Damage modifiers are non-existent to the point that he’s too weak to both take hits or dish them out against the newer Tanking Fighters.

SP Super Saiyan Kid Trunks (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2081125
Strike ATK 204750
Blast ATK 235528
Strike DEF 128042
Blast DEF 126664

Why this Tier?

  • Reliable Unique Abilities and incredible base Blast Damage give SP SSJ Kid Trunks YEL one of the best Ranged Fighters in the game.

  • He can reduce Enemy Ki Recovery Speed and increase his own Vanish Step gauge through his Main Ability.

Discussion:

SP Super Saiyan Kid Trunks YEL can deliver lethal Damage at maximum range.  His Extra Move is quite possibly the best in the game. What makes this Fighter great is his Synergy within the Hybrid Saiyan Tag, specifically his Synergy with Goten variants. Together those two are some of the best Damage dealers in the game.

SP Super Saiyan Goku (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2203952
Strike ATK 217284
Blast ATK 182899
Strike DEF 150623
Blast DEF 152894

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Goku BLU’s Special Move card has become more valuable with recent updates to the game and he’s so versatile because of how well he counters powerhouse Fighters in the current Meta.

  • Crisis abilities are fairly situational, even more so for SP SSJ Goku BLU because Ultimate Fist takes a lot of set-up to actually land. However, as far as Blue Element Fighters go, he’s one of the better options and Synergizes incredibly well with Saiyan multicolor Teams.

Discussion:

His two major weaknesses before were a low Ki Recovery Speed stat and lack of all Damage modifiers--both of which aren't as big a deal since the side-step update made long Combos more difficult to pull off.

Now, his tactical priority lies in a powerful Special Move that can do ridiculous Damage.

SP Android #16 (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2486510
Strike ATK 207397
Blast ATK 129749
Strike DEF 155218
Blast DEF 158346

Why this Tier?

  • His damage cut ‘Cover’ Ability can negate an Enemy Rising Rush, effectively stealing number advantage.

  • He's immune to every effect.

Discussion:

The arrival of SP Android #16 GRN has changed the way Defensive Fighters can impact the flow of combat with some incredible Defense stats, a powerful Damage reduction Cover Unique Ability, and a powerful self-heal. This Fighter is also immune to abnormal conditions, making him near impossible for the Enemy to control through debuffs. Having SP Android #16 GRN on the field means Enemy Players can’t effectively use their Fighter’s toolkits without fear of having them nullified or mitigated.

SP Super Vegeta (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2237746
Strike ATK 179259
Blast ATK 227265
Strike DEF 124264
Blast DEF 131942

Why this Tier?

  • Between SP Super Vegeta YEL’s Intimidate Unique Ability that Debuffs Enemy Blast Damage and the Pride Unique Ability which Boosts his own Blast Attack, the longer a Fighter squares off against him, SP Super Vegeta YEL only gets more powerful as the Match drags on.

  • His Tags give him a wide array of base stat buffs that make him even more powerful better equipping him to win almost any neutral match up.

Discussion:

SP Super Vegeta YEL is a formidable Damage Dealer among Saiyans a Tag who fields several top 5 Teams in the current Meta. This makes SP Super Vegeta YEL one of the more useful and versatile Fighters on this list since he can fit into a larger variety of top Teams.

SP Android #17 (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1832603
Strike ATK 172456
Blast ATK 211291
Strike DEF 156519
Blast DEF 159673

Why this Tier?

  • Incredible Defensive stats that when paired with a powerful Unique Ability, make this Fighter one of the more formidable Tanks in the game. On top of this, he is able to reduce the threat of a one-shot from an Enemy’s Rising Rush.

  • Barrier can absorb any attack except for a Rising Rush allowing SP Android # 17 PUR to gain a resource advantage.

Discussion:

This Fighter is one of the better Tanks in the game; not only does he have a diverse toolkit allowing him to absorb and reduce Damage, but his base stats are on the high end of the current line-up. This combined with his incredible Blast Damage which make him more than just a meat shield.

Tier 2

What makes a Fighter 'Tier 2'?

While the Fighters listed in the higher Tiers are often the primary Fighter of their respective Team, the Fighters here are ideal secondaries. These Fighters have at least one major defect but with proper Team Synergy, these defects can be overcome.

SP King of the Demon Realm Dabura (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2110881
Strike ATK 205919
Blast ATK 233263
Strike DEF 142812
Blast DEF 140713

Why this Tier?

  • This Fighter’s Extra Move held Arts Card, as well as the benefits the Move provides, are extremely valuable but it comes with the steep cost of increasing his Special Move cost by 10 the first three times the Extra Move is used.

  • He doesn’t have any Tags, limiting his Team viability and Equipment options.

Discussion:

SP King Dabura BLU is all about protecting the Team from debuffs while also debuffing the Enemy through paralysis and making some Arts Cards unusable. A lack of Tags won’t completely make him unusable since his toolkit is too good not to use, but it means there’s a lot more to consider when putting him in a Team.

SP Fused with Kami Piccolo (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2237635
Strike ATK 179459
Blast ATK 235391
Strike DEF 130511
Blast DEF 129342

Why this Tier?

  • Regeneration Tag is getting a lot of new Fighters in the recent update, which is also adding to the pool of Z-Abilities, making this a much more synergizing Tag than it was before.

  • Anti-Android skills are seeing less use now that Android Teams aren’t played as much. Since the Regeneration Tag has some heavy hitters that are must-starts on their Team, he’s only brought in to counter a powerful Red Fighter like SP Super Gogeta RED. Otherwise, it’s hard to bring him in.

Discussion:

SP Kami Piccolo BLU is a difficult Fighter to assess. His toolkit and stats are all incredibly powerful but his anti-Android Abilities indicate that he might not age well. However, the rest of his Abilities and the growth of the Regeneration Tag certainly give him more staying power.

SP Super Trunks (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1762490
Strike ATK 241917
Blast ATK 162867
Strike DEF 129342
Blast DEF 129335

Why this Tier?

  • SP Super Trunks GRN’s true power lies in his Main Ability wherein he gets an incredible 75% Boost to Strike Damage for 10 counts, making him an absolute powerhouse that can destroy just about anything.

  • High Card costs and low Ki Restore Speeds can cripple SP Super Trunks GRN in the long term, but when paired with a team that can set him as the ultimate closer, he can really do some damage.

Discussion:

SP Super Trunks GRN is great when paired with SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR. Their Synergy makes them inseparable in a competitive Hybrid Saiyan Team. These two feed each other’s Strike Cards, dealing incredible amounts of Damage.

SP Krillin (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1695262
Strike ATK 156770
Blast ATK 223912
Strike DEF 127411
Blast DEF 133274

Why this Tier?

  • Amazing group heal that also cancels Enemy Ki Recovery for 5 counts.
  • Poor Arts Card mix as a Blast Damage focused Fighter, while still a good addition for Strike Style Teams.

Discussion:

SP Krillin BLU is a solid Blast Damage Fighter who can heal the entire Team and also reduce Damage dealt by Enemy Teams. He is one of the better Synergizing Fighters in the game and when paired with someone in need of extra Strike Arts Cards, his greatest personal defect is made more forgivable.

SP Android #18 (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1827954
Strike ATK 215122
Blast ATK 179259
Strike DEF 125519
Blast DEF 133274

Why this Tier?

  • Excellent Extra Move effect and base Strike stats make this Fighter a lethal for Android Team Builds.

  • SP Android #18 YEL brings two Blast Arts Cards as a Strike heavy Offense Fighter.

Discussion:

Her Arts Cards can be a blessing to Ranged Teammates, but this hurts her viability and ability to win neutral matchups in the Android Tag. SP Android #18 YEL needs a Team that brings the right Cards and Buffs, but accomplishing this without hurting the Team Build can be difficult—if not for this she would be higher on the list.

SP Super Saiyan Teen Trunks (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1865069
Strike ATK 161429
Blast ATK 159814
Strike DEF 125581
Blast DEF 126199

Why this Tier?

  • He has Unique Ability Cover to absorb many attacks without dying.

  • Lacks any impressive Defensive or Offensive stats.

Discussion:

With the recent Side-step re-work, this Fighter’s Cover Ability is more valuable in avoiding Damage and making Enemies waste resources. Additionally, the Hybrid Saiyan Tag which dominates the Meta. Currently, the best Hybrid Saiyan Team Build is in dire need of protection from Enemy Teams with SP Super Vegeta YEL. As such, SP SSJ Trunks RED is a must for the Hybrid Saiyan Team.

Tier 3

What makes a Fighter 'Tier 3'?

These Fighters require major focus and should by no means by the Fighter a Team is built around, but they don’t really give back and make their Teammates stronger. This doesn’t make them too different then from the Fighters in Tier 1, but these Fighters are typically older and don’t hold up to newer Fighters in the DBL Roster. The lack of Damage Buffs and competitive base stats needed to reliably win neutral matchups is what puts these Fighters in Tier 3.

SP Super Saiyan Vegeta (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1978004
Strike ATK 158216
Blast ATK 147461
Strike DEF 156650
Blast DEF 108690

Why this Tier?

  • Once SP SSJ Vegeta RED’s Main Ability is activated, using a Strike Card will cost less than what is regenerated by sidestepping. This means he can produce considerably longer combos.

  • Self-healing through his Extra Move makes SP SSJ Vegeta RED incredibly durable.

Discussion:

SP SSJ Vegeta RED’s toolkit was hurt due to the recent update’s draw limitations--his biggest advantage was his Main Ability that reduced costs to 5 Ki, which sounds great but now he can't draw enough Arts Cards to put that to real use. And, he needs to be surrounded by Fighters who bring additional Strike Arts cards. Self-healing and the Saiyan Tag, keep SP SSJ Vegeta RED viable, but he’s slipping.

SP Legendary Super Saiyan Broly (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1921582
Strike ATK 241485
Blast ATK 159104
Strike DEF 124294
Blast DEF 118232

Why this Tier?

  • Powerful Strike Damage.

  • Expensive Extra Move and lacks Damage Buffs.

Discussion:

SP LSSJ Broly BLU’s toolkit has always been unimpressive, but this is made more so due to the increased release of Fighters with high Strike Damage, Damage Buffing abilities, and fast Ki Recovery. His toolkit has always been average, but the recent additions to the Sagas Warriors Tag are what’s keeping this Fighter relevant to the Meta.

SP Kid Gohan (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1883719
Strike ATK 223729
Blast ATK 143148
Strike DEF 128111
Blast DEF 126837

Why this Tier?

  • With an incredible Main Ability and solid Extra Move, SP Kid Gohan YEL’s Strike Damage Buffs can stack to ridiculous heights.

  • Poor Arts Card mix really hurts SP Kid Gohan YEL. In order for him to be effective, he needs to be on a Team that can either use his Blast Arts Cards or compensate with four Strike Arts Cards.

Discussion:

SP Kid Gohan YEL has a great Z-Ability for Hybrid Saiyans, he's in a good Element Group, and does a fair amount of Damage as well. Though he’s limited in who he can be paired with, he’s quite competitive in Hybrid Saiyan Team Builds because they Synergize and balance out his weaknesses with the Strike Arts Cards.

SP Super Saiyan Goku (Red)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1712386
Strike ATK 180837
Blast ATK 226973
Strike DEF 109677
Blast DEF 115300

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Goku RED brings two Strike Arts Cards and a Strike Buff to the Saiyan Tag, making him a great complement to the other Z Tier Saiyan Fighters.

  • His overall stats are no longer impressive, meaning he needs major Team Buffs to be viable—luckily he’s a Saiyan.

Discussion:

As a Saiyan, SP SSJ Goku RED has all the Buffs he needs to overcome his stat deficiency. Pairing that with his Arts Card mix, Ultimate Move, and powerful Extra Move, he becomes an excellent addition to the dominant Strike based Saiyan Team Builds of the current Meta.

SP Piccolo (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 2103329
Strike ATK 167710
Blast ATK 161125
Strike DEF 142332
Blast DEF 136758

Why this Tier?

  • SP Piccolo GRN’s Team-wide healing, Tank stats, and Cover Unique Ability make him a great Defense Style Fighter for most Teams.

  • He lacks Damage potential and Synergy from his Tags.

Discussion:

SP Piccolo GRN’s stats have become less impressive with the release of newer SP Fighters. The current lack of viable Teammates and Synergy puts this Fighter lower on the list than he otherwise would be.

Tier 4

What makes a Fighter 'Tier 4'?

These Fighters are simply for back-up on the bench, but that’s not to say they can’t be brought in for type advantage if needed. But even in that case, there are better options in nearly every Element Group and Tag. These Fighters are used for their Z-Abilities and to counter type advantage gaps with Starters.

SP Super Saiyan Goku (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1855511
Strike ATK 205243
Blast ATK 201189
Strike DEF 135809
Blast DEF 133113

Why this Tier?

  • SP SSJ Goku YEL’s ability to draw Cards faster and deal more Damage at the start of a match makes him an ideal opener.

  • However, he Damages himself and loses most of his big Buffs after the first 20 counts. Luckily, this weakness can be toned down with the help of a Secondary Offense Fighter to pick up the slack.

Discussion:

SP SSJ Goku YEL used to have a role in double Buffing Yellow Teams or even as an alternate in the Green-Green-Yellow Saiyan Build, but the decline of Saiyans in general and the rise of more powerful tags like Hybrid Saiyans has reduced his viability in the PVP Meta.

SP 1st Form Frieza (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1863259
Strike ATK 161349
Blast ATK 197942
Strike DEF 128698
Blast DEF 129355

Why this Tier?

  • A unique skill-set allows him to steal priority from Ranged Attacks.

  • But he lacks the Damage Buffs needed to excel.

Discussion:

The biggest strength of this Fighter are the Buffs available to the Frieza Force Tag. Sufficiently Buffed, SP 1st Form Frieza BLU can compete and win in neutral matchups, but he lacks the durability needed to build a Team around.

SP Final Form Frieza (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1753922
Strike ATK 226011
Blast ATK 163043
Strike DEF 118115
Blast DEF 120507

Why this Tier?

  • Powerful Ultimate Move

  • Lacks durability.

Discussion:

The biggest strength of this Fighter are the Buffs available for the Frieza Force Tag. Sufficiently Buffed, SP FF Frieza YEL can compete and win in neutral matchups, but he lacks the durability needed to build a Team around.

SP Paikuhan (Yellow)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1921582
Strike ATK 189859
Blast ATK 170094
Strike DEF 126837
Blast DEF 126199

Why this Tier?

  • Two Strike Arts Cards, Faint inflicting Special Move, a Yellow Element favoring Z-Ability, and a Main Ability which increases Enemy Arts Card cost are all great tools in battle.

  • However, his Special Move is fairly weak, and he lacks a single outstanding stat.

Discussion:

SP Paikuhan YEL’s home among Yellow Teams was once something to be proud of, but now outside of SP Super Vegeta YEL. His stats are too well-rounded and he lacks any Damage Buffs. The only thing currently keeping him relevant is the recent additions to the Sagas Warrior Tag and SP Super Gogeta RED’s secondary Unique Ability which requires that SP Paikuhan YEL die in order to grant a 50% increase to Ki Recovery Speed.

SP Vegeta (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1661776
Strike ATK 147508
Blast ATK 225978
Strike DEF 125575
Blast DEF 124325

Why this Tier?

  • Excellent Blast Damage Buffs make him a lethal Ranged Fighter.

  • Lack of durability and poor Arts Card Mix for his Tag’s current focus on Strike Damage.

Discussion:

SP Vegeta PUR’s base stats aren’t as impressive anymore, but his Main Ability Damage Buffs and Extra Move keep his Blast Damage at respectable levels. The Saiyan Tag can’t really afford Fighters with two Blast Arts Cards in the current Meta, especially ones with poor Defense stats.

SP Pan (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1883719
Strike ATK 153749
Blast ATK 150697
Strike DEF 115312
Blast DEF 115306

Why this Tier?

  • The side-step update hurt Ki Recovery Speed as a stat and that was her only redeeming quality since she was top dog in that regard since launch.

  • A Lack of Tag options and Team Synergy hurt her viability in the current Meta.

Discussion:

SP Pan BLU’s greatest defect is that she just doesn’t fit in with the current Meta. The Female Warrior Tag is her best bet here, and while that Tag has experienced some recent growth, it’s still too small. This Tag and Hybrid Saiyan are the only things keeping her relevant.

Tier 5

SP World Champion Hercule (Red)
Explanation
SP Goku (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1798005
Strike ATK 152204
Blast ATK 191796
Strike DEF 132509
Blast DEF 130548

Why this Tier?

  • Excellent Element Group double Buff.

  • Difficult and ineffective Crisis Unique Abilities.

Discussion:

SP Goku PUR’s toolkit is not very strong and his general performance outside of Crisis moments is sub-par. His role as a solid bench Fighter was cemented when SP SSJ2 Youth Gohan PUR joined SP Android #17 PUR as an incredibly powerful Fighter in that Element Group.

SP Turles (Purple)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1537496
Strike ATK 188371
Blast ATK 192177
Strike DEF 124950
Blast DEF 100460

Why this Tier?

  • Excellent Z-Ability Buffs two different stats.

  • Random bonus Extra Arts Card and lack of reliable Buffs.

Discussion:

SP Turles PUR is both Purple and Saiyan--two Tags which house some absolute monsters. This means his Z-Ability is useful to relevant Fighters in the Meta but bringing him into a Match is likely never a smart thing to do.

SP Coora (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1883719
Strike ATK 161420
Blast ATK 190274
Strike DEF 124331
Blast DEF 123094

Why this Tier?

  • His Extra Move can slow down Enemies.

  • Lacks optimal Tags and has almost no Team Synergy.

Discussion:

SP Coora GRN’s Extra Move could be great, but using it is risky. His stats and lack of buffs make him a difficult Fighter to run, as there are so many better alternatives in the Green Element Group.

SP Captain Ginyu (Green)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1977707
Strike ATK 143155
Blast ATK 159814
Strike DEF 125581
Blast DEF 125568

Why this Tier?

  • Two Extra Moves

  • His primary Tag isn’t viable and he lacks Reduce Damage Buffs like Cover.

Discussion:

SP Captain Ginyu GRN lacks a viable team to play on. While there are many Fighters who would benefit from his Extra Moves, they wouldn’t Synergize in any other meaningful way, making him a difficult start. Even on the bench, he lacks any major utility while the Ginyu Force Tag lacks EX Fighters.

SP Goku (Blue)
Explanation

Stats

HP 1883813

Why this Tier?

  • Farmable SP that can be 7 starred, giving him good stats.

  • The Saiyan Tag is so powerful that finding a spot for him on the bench, let alone on the starting line-up, is impossible.

Discussion:

The strength of the Saiyan Tag ensures that SP Goku BLU has no seat at a table filled with Vegeta variants. If he were an Android or some other Tag, he’d be more viable--especially at higher stars.
