Why This Team?

  • Not enough can be said for this Fighter or his absolute mastery of the Combat Loop through his Main Ability. This is one of two excellent starting Fighters who play so well off each other that for the first 30 timer counts of the Match, the most ideal play style is alternating between them as needed before even activating any Moves or Main Abilities.

  • That being said, his Defense stats aren’t great and his Ki Recovery Speed is fairly average, so a good rule of thumb is to use him as long and hard as possible before switching out for SP SSJ Kid Goten GRN.

Why This Team?

  • This Fighter equals SP SSJ Kid Trunks YEL in Damage output until he activates his Main Ability--that's when the real show starts. His Main ability re-shuffles the deck and gives the Player a new hand of held Arts Cards, but the more Blast Arts Cards SP SSJ Kid Goten GRN starts with the better as it increases the Damage of his next Move by 50% for each Blast Arts Card shuffled back into the deck.

  • His Strike Defense stat is average, but his Blast Defense is on the low end. Despite this, SP SSJ Kid Goten GRN’s  Ki Recovery Speed is high enough to make this more forgivable, as he’s more likely to maintain control of the Combat Loop.

Why This Team?

  • This is the best Tank for the Team based on stats, but his real strength lies in Special Move Burst Damage. Unlike SP SSJ Goten GRN, this Fighter’s Damage Burst multiplier is an Extra Move, not a Main Ability.

  • This means his Burst Combos don’t hurt so bad when they fail, but only deal half the Damage of SP SSJ Goten GRN’s Main Ability Activated Burst.

Discussion:

The best plan of action is to start the Match with frequent switches within the first 20-30 timer counts to take full advantage of each Fighter’s respective specialties.

After the initial timer based Buffs have passed, SP SSJ Gotenks PUR and SP SSJ Kid Trunks YEL should work together as a Ranged Offensive with SP SSJ Gotenks PUR leading the charge since he gets 50% to Ki Recovery Speed in the time between getting switched in receiving a hit.

SP SSJ Kid Trunks is the only Fighter of the three who doesn’t rely heavily on Damage Bursting. The fact that he has Vanish Step Buffs and Ki Recovery Speed debuffs for the Enemy makes him especially important to switch in to take out Enemy counters.
