  • He’s the best Offensive Fighter in the game and requires little-to-no support to be so. His Main Ability can be used both Offensively and Defensively, healing, purging enemy Buffs, and drawing one of the strongest Ultimate Arts Cards in the game.
  • His Cover-like Unique Ability which nullifies Strike Attacks is a breath of fresh air for this ultra Offensive Team. It can really break the flow of a game if used properly, and it’s especially effective if followed a Special Move right after -- since it’s the only move that doesn’t break the Cover Combo.

  • SP Angry Goku BLU is a juggernaut that requires a short while to get going before obliterating everything in his path. On this Team especially, getting his Transformation should be a priority to allow him to benefit from the Z-Abilities of SP SSJ Bardock BLU, SP Super Vegeta YEL, and  SP SSJ Yardrat Goku RED

  • He provides something for this Team that no other unit on it can - complete neutral game dominance with his Counter Special Move Extra Card. Few units can compete with SP Angry Goku BLU in a 1v1 scenario, and his Crisis buffs give the team an additional late game threat.

  • SP Vegeta BLU does it all with finesse. His slew of self-Buffs help him to crush most opponents with no Support required. His Blast Armor in particular helps him to approach safely, and its existence on SP Vegeta BLU  gives the Super Saiyan Tag two Fighters with inherent neutral-game advantages.

  • He can draw a Special Move card with his Main Ability which benefits both SP Vegeta BLU himself and his teammate, SP Angry Goku BLU. SP Vegeta BLU’s Special Move is no slouch either, which lets him use his Main Ability to lob a crushing Counter to his teammate or crush his enemy by using it as a combo ender.

Discussion

The Super Saiyan Tag is in the midst of a renaissance of sorts. Due to the absurd power so many of its most recent Fighters possess, the Tag’s reliance on SP SSJ Bardock BLU has all but vanished, giving way to a brutal offensive playstyle with no weak Offensive or Defensive links.

All three members of its primary core have absurd kits, letting the team blast through all teams in the meta, even those that are designed to counter it -- namely Lineage of Evil and Frieza Force -- with proper prediction and smart switching.

The most optimal tactic of the Tag is is starting with SP Super Vegito PUR to instantly assert Offensive dominance. Each of his Teammates lessen Damage incurred when switching in, keeping the Team relatively healthy even when it’s forced on the defensive.

SP Vegeta BLU is the least integral member of the Core, so he can be safely switched off the Core and replaced if faced with a notable Green menace, like the common SP Golden Frieza GRN. SP Super Vegito PUR and SP Angry Goku BLU can both hold their own in Crisis situations and lay waste to their opponents with oppressive toolkits. Because so many of the Tag’s fighters are Transformation-focused, it’s important to get them to achieve their potentials as soon as possible to maximize their benefits from a primarily Super Saiyan Tag-focused bench.

SP SSJ Kid Goku GRN can hold his own with or without Support, and works well on the team, replacing SP Vegeta BLU. Few Fighters can string together as many Arts Cards as SP SSJ Kid Goku GRN. Even on the sidelines he benefits the party with a dual boost to Blast Attack and Defense.

SP SSJ Broly GRN’s Defensive Abilities are just fantastic. His Cover is overall one of the best in the game, and his Extra Move can nullify most attacks and knock the Enemy back.

His problem is that his Offense is quite sub-par, which is not great for a Team that focuses mainly on that, so he’s a worse Green option than SP SSJ Kid Goku GRN.

SP SSJ Bardock BLU is still an integral part of this Tag, on and off the Core. On the battlefield, he provides Super Saiyans with incredible Support Buffs that allow them to finish opponents in a single Combo.

SP SSJ Bardock BLU himself is rather outdated kit-wise and is noticeably fragile. He assists more so on Bench for the Tag, giving his Teammates Strike Attack and Defense at five stars, but he can still be brought into a battle if needed.
